Our Wedding Party

Maddie's Party

Jude Singer
Best Man

I met Jude when we were nine years old, and we have been friends ever since. We have been through so much together, from playing at recess to dancing at dozens of shows together to watching each other build new lives away from home. We were by each other's sides through our darkest days (Hetalia phase, etc.), and I know that we are going to be friends forever.

Leialani Santos

Maid of Honor

I met Leialani during orientation at our weird, 400-person  college, and we have been friends ever since. Over time, we discovered that we had a lot of random things in common: we both had the same Labyrinth t-shirt, loved Rocky Horror, were obsessed with the same Studio Ghibli movies, etc. Leialani is one of the smartest and most dedicated baddies I know, and I am honored to call her one of my best friends.

Lia Keener

Bridesmaid

I will tell anyone who will listen that Lia Keener is simply one of the best people to exist in the world. Lia joined our dorky little friend group in 6th grade, but it was like she had been with us all along. Lia is an excellent artist, a brilliant human, a kind friend, and a world-class Instagram sleuth.

Rylee McConnell

Bridesperson

The earliest time I remember truly becoming friends with Rylee was when they asked Jude and me if we could all play wolves together at recess, and the rest is history. We spent our childhoods making art together, geeking out over new Star Wars movies, and playing in the woods with friends. I am so lucky to have had Rylee in my life then and now, especially now that we live in the same state again!

Ian Faseler

Bridesman

On a fateful day in 2016, Ian and I discovered that we had the same birthday - which makes sense, because we are twin flames. We spent years lying to children at Camp Tamarack that we were blood-related siblings, and at this point, we might as well be. I am so happy for him that he escaped *this place* and moved to Canada, but I am even happier that he is forced to come see us for our wedding!

Kelly Britton

Bridesmaid

Kelly and I have probably spent thousands of hours together in dance classes and rehearsals since middle school. In 2016, we did a dance together where we developed alter egos (Jeremy and Kent) who had a legendary bromance. From then on, we were more than friends: we were husbands. After many years, Kelly lives close to me again, working on a PhD because she's a genius.

Elias Cuevas

Best Man

When Elias transfered to my high school in eleventh grade, I immediately recognized him as a threat to my goal of securing the coveted Valedictorian title. We quickly formed a tight friendship with a competitive edge in trying to get better grades than each other (annoyingly, we tied, and were "co-Valedictorians"). Our closeness was misinterpreted by several of our peers, who would tell us we would marry each other one day (I guess they missed the memo that we were both queer).

Petra Banuet

Maid of Honor

Petra and I met in ninth grade when our biology teacher assigned us to the same table. But things really kicked off when we were put in a Mandarin class that was literally only us and one other student. We were too busy chatting (mostly about One Direction and 5sos) and messing around to actually learn any Mandarin. And of course, I can't talk about Petra without talking about the life-changing Costa Rica trip (sorry, Elias), where we made hundreds of memories and inside jokes together.

Brooklyn Robertson

Bridesmaid

Brooklyn spotted me as another gay at our law school and befriended me. I am so glad she did because Brooklyn and I are truly on the same wavelength. Maddie wanted her to be in our joint party, but I insisted she be in mine because of how formidable the mutual law school trauma we endured was to our friendship. Brooklyn and I have also discovered many shared interests, from Glee to niche internet content. We are even godmothers to each other's cats.

Hannah Presher

Bridesmaid

I've known Hannah since she was maybe 6 years old. While we aren't blood-related, she and Sarah lived with my family for several years, and I call and consider both of them my cousins. Hannah was like my little side-kick growing up and spent a lot of time with me. In more recent years, Hannah has been a big cheerleader for me in every aspect of my life including my relationship with Maddie.

Alexa Smith

Bridesmaid

It was truly fate that brought me and Alexa together. We randomly sat next to each other during law school orientation and we just hit it off. Both of us, stubborn as hell, then insisted that we sit next to each other for every law school class we had together until we graduated (where we also sat together). When she wasn't watching me play Wordle during Contracts, we were in her apartment watching every Hulu documentary that exists.

Sarah Presher

Bridesmaid

Like Hannah, Sarah, while not blood, is family. We both were competitive swimmers at the same high school, but she took it a step further and founded the water polo team (where she dominated). I have been so proud to see what she had accomplished there. Sarah is like the class clown of our family, and she always lights up the room whenever I see her.

The Joint Party

One wedding party each was not enough, and because there are people that are equally special to both of us we thought why not create a 3rd party for the people who we both wanted in our wedding parties.

Sam Mickelson

Bridesmaid

Brooklyn brought Sam into our lives by dating her. Good call bestie, because Sam is a treasure. Even though we've only known her for a few years, it honestly feels like it has been much longer. While she seems different from us on paper, we have so much fun together, and we never run out of things to talk about.

Sachio Mortia

Bridesman

Maddie first saw Sachio at "Experience Soka" and thought he was an adorable Lesbian. We have since learned that he is just the most beautiful boy in the world. Sachio is an incredible artist, basically a chiropractor, and one of the funniest people we know. We can't believe he left us alone in California to live with the Amish.

Em Calarco

Bridesperson

We met Em and Helen while looking for roommates in 2023. Em is tragically allergic to cats, so we didn't gain any roommates, but we did gain two amazing friendships. In 2025, Em and Helen rudely (but understandably) moved to New York. In the short time we had with them, we cherished Em's collaging nights, supporting their art at local markets, and scampering around tide pools together.

Helen Black

Bridesmaid

Upon meeting Helen and Em, Maddie immediately said, "I love how you guys are just us in different fonts." Beyond just aesthetics, we really do have so much in common with Helen, from religiously listening to MUNA's podcast to having gone to weird small colleges. Before she abandoned us for NY, we loved our regular dinner dates, TV show binges, and Maddie-Helen community garden time.

Denali Heinlein

  • Instagram

I actually met Denali before anyone else on this page, in a dance class we took during preschool. I vaguely remember thinking she was scary, which I later learned was absolutely right. Denali is a talented dancer, painter, designer, and photographer who I have seen succeed at everything she puts her mind to. She is also a kind, goofy friend, and I am so thrilled to have someone we trust so much capturing our day.
