Our Story 

During Kelsey's freshman year of college, Maddie was a prospective student who visited Soka for the "Experience Soka" weekend. Maddie was hanging out with Sydney, the prospective student that Kelsey was hosting, at one of the events. When Kelsey asked Sydney if she wanted to go back to her dorm with a group of people before the next event, Maddie invited herself along (to get some more face time with the cute lesbian). Afterwards, as the group walked to the next event, Maddie and Kelsey spoke for the first time, when Maddie asked her, "So what's it like being gay here?" - well really, Maddie spoke to Kelsey for the first time, and Kelsey responded with a series of ums and uhs until one of her friends saved her by answering the question for her.

After "Experience Soka," both Maddie and Kelsey found each other on Instagram and insta-stalked each other. When Maddie started at Soka in the fall semester that year, she popped up on Kelsey's Tinder. Kelsey immediately "super-liked" her. For reasons still unclear to Kelsey, Maddie found Kelsey's Tinder profile filled with photos of her wearing a fedora and the bio "fedorable" to be charming. The pair went on a walk around campus together, where Kelsey actually managed to have a conversation and said more than just "um" and "uh." Soon after, they went on their first date. A couple of weeks later, Maddie asked Kelsey if she wanted to be her girlfriend, to which Kelsey infamously replied, "kinda." [I was trying to be like "duuuh" but clearly chose the wrong word.] They've been together ever since.
